Salim Abdullah Al Salmi, Advisor Health Informatics, Ministry of Health and Dean, Oman Health Information Management Institute

For the last 25 years, Dr Salim has been witnessing the development of the health informatics and information management at the ministry of health Oman. He worked as the director of the health information management department at the Royal Hospital. For the last 9 years Dr Salim has been working as the dean of Oman Health Information Management Institute and as the health information management advisor for the Ministry of Health Oman. Dr Salim is holding a degree in health information management from USA, master in health informatics from UK, PG certificate in medical education from UK and PhD in health informatics from UK. He is a certified health information manager by IHRIM and registered health information technologist accredited by AHIMA. He is interested in the impact of the electronic health record in the roles of health information management professionals, electronic clinical documentation and coding standards, and health information privacy policy and practice. He has been actively involved in the development of the electronic health record in Oman. He is the leader for the development of the health information management education and services at the ministry of health Oman.
