Dr. Taghreed Justinia, Assistant Professor of Health Informatics, Regional Director IT Services, Technology & Health Informatics, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Ministry of National Guard, Health Affairs

Dr. Taghreed Justinia is an Assistant Professor of Health Informatics having obtained a Ph.D in Health Informatics and an M.Sc in Healthcare Management from Swansea University, UK where she is also Honorary Lecturer. She studied Computer Science in the US as an undergraduate and has maintained a career in the IT field with 17 years of experience in IT Leadership roles. Currently, she is the founding Regional Director Information Technology Services & Health Informatics at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (M-NGHA) in Saudi Arabia.

She began her career as Director MIS & Computer Department, Alnoor Specialist Hospital, Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia where she led an IT transformation project. She went on to hold other IT Executive Management and Health Informatics roles and was appointed in 2001 as Manager of Systems & Network Support-Western Region, King Abdulaziz Medical City-Jeddah (KAMC-J), M-NGHA. After obtaining her PhD, she was appointed as Information & Communication Technology Asst. Director at KSAU-HS. Most recently, she led the commissioning of the IT infrastructure, Data Center and systems for an entirely new Smart Campus at KSAU-HS in Jeddah.

Dr. Justinia has a special interest in IT Leadership, Organisational Behaviour, Health Informatics; Change Management; and the socio-technical aspects of technological change. This is in addition to her academic role in undergraduate and postgraduate programs supervising and teaching Health Informatics, Leadership/Management and Research courses in Saudi Arabia and the UK. She is also a devout qualitative researcher and has developed an original qualitative data analysis framework.

She has several international affiliations and memberships and is a member of the Project Management Institute. She is also an International Committee Member with the T.I.G.E.R. (Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform) Initiative. In 2015, she represented KSAU-HS in a year-long training program with the Ministry of Education’s e-Learning Pioneers Program-Leadership Track. Dr. Justinia has several publications including a book, and regularly reviews for high impact scientific journals. She is also an International Advisory Board Member with the International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications (IJEHMC).
